About Bev Lee

Living all my life within the noise and challenges of central London, painting has become my refuge.

My practice channels my stream of consciousness informing both composition, themes and decision making within my work, striking a balance between figuration and abstraction.

I like to create ‘collections’ of projects. Each oil painting can be considered a single work or grouped together to create a more immersive instillation experience,

Influenced by Ursula K Le Guin book “The Carrier Bag of Fiction” and Bracha Ettinger’s ‘The Matrixical Borderspace’, has aided my understanding of intersection identity.

From large to small works, my body of work is my active resistance to the tentacles of the media that coerce and infiltrate our everyday lives, leading to oppression, misinformation, extremism and racism;
