About Bev Lee

Living all my life within the noise and challenges of central London, painting has become my refuge.

My practice channels my stream of consciousness informing both composition, themes and decision making within my work, striking a balance between figuration and abstraction.

My background as a fashion designer has greatly influenced my critique of social media and how it impacts our socio political landscape .

I like to create ‘collections’ of projects. Each oil painting can be considered a single work or grouped together to create a more immersive instillation experience,

Influenced by Ursula K Le Guin book “The Carrier Bag of Fiction”. From large to small works, my work is my active resistance to the media; to the power hungry alpha male and finally to those racist & anti- semitic tropes currently being expressed on our streets.
